Buildings of Asunción - Edificios de Asunción
Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, was founded on August 15th, 1537. Asunción was so-named after the Day of Asunción, believed to be the date the Virgin Mary ascended to heaven. Asunción is 472 years old today! And while many of the city´s buildings could use a facelift, in looking beyond the crumbling exteriors you will find interesting places full of character and history. Some gems, such as Villa Arcallana on the corner of Mscl. Lopez and General Santos have been restored to former glory. Of course it would look better without the huge hotdog billboard blocking the view from one side!
Asunción, la capital de Paraguay, fue fundada el 15 de agosto de 1537. Asunción fue así-nombrado en honor al Día de la Asunción, marcando la fecha en el cual Virgen María ascendió a los cielos. ¡Asunción cumple 427 años este día! Y mientras muchos de los edificios beneficiarían de un "lifting," el mirar más allá de los exteriories deteriorados te llevará a conocer edificios con carácter e historia. Algunas joyas, como Villa Arcallana en la esquina de Mariscal Lopez y General Santos han sido restaurados a su antiguo esplandor. Por supuesto se apreciaría más sin el cartel enorme de salchichas que bloquea la vista de un lado!

Ohhhhhhhhh!! Me encanta Villa Arcallana, tenés razón con lo del cartel de los chorizos-panchos-salchichas, jajajajaja
Es una casa muy bonita =) siempre me ha llamado la atención ese lugar.
